Glamour Girl

Here is the next page in my scrapbook adventure. I have entitled it Glamour Girl. The page documents the priceless costumes that Olivia modeled during her third year. I really like this page. It is too bad that the picture does not do all the little embellishments justice. However, the few people that even look at this blog can have the opportunity to see this page in real life...therefore they will be able to appreciate its beauty! (:

Bubbles!

I finally finished my third scrapbook page. I had a hard time getting started on this one. I like it, and I think that the blue glitter circles do look like bubbles floating around the page. I showed it to Olivia, and she seemed to think it was cool. It does look better in person...trust me!

Cute Clothes

The Imagination Station in town had a trunk show Friday night at the store. The clothes were sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute. They are all handmade by a wonderully nice mother. She runs the company Trendy Sisters. The clothes are so unique because of the interesting fabric she chooses. I copied a few from her website. You can take a look at all her cute clothes at www.trendysisters.com. (You may have to copy and past this address)

First Trip to the Dentist

Olivia had her very first trip to the dentist yesterday. She was a bit nervous at first, but was a pro by the end. Bridgette showed her all the cleaning tools. She loved the tooth tickler (the polishing brush) and Mr. Sunshine (the lamp above the chair). Bridgette even let her wear star shaped sunglasses so the the lamp wouldn't be too bright. Olivia was also given a ride in the dentist chair- up, down, back, and forth. Dr. Holman counted Olivia's twenty teeth and added her name to the "No Cavity Club." Finally, Bridgette gave her a dry polish to make her teeth sparkle. Olivia was so proud of her bright smile that she even went over to the man in the next chair and smiled really big to show him. She ended the day with a new tooth brush and a toy from the treasure chest. I think that everyone was in love with her by the end of the appointment. A final note: Last night before bed she informed me that she would like to go back to the dentist tomorrow! Imagine that!

Am I a Scrapbooker???

I never thought I would ever become a scrapper (the scrapbooking nickname according to the magazines)...but here I am excited about posting the pages I have completed. This one took about as long as the last one because I changed it so many times...but I think I like how it turned out. I still have a bit of "captioning" to do around one of the circles. I need to practice my handwriting before I actually commit on the page. I think it is just the girl in the pictures that makes everything look so cute!

First Scrapbook Page

Well here it is! FINALLY! I finished my first scrapbook page that introduces the book as Olivia's third year. I had a few problems with lining things up so that they would be perfectly straight. I still think I might add some small writing somewhere at the top of the three blue bubbles or above the picture. Other than that I am pleased....and it only took me an hour! Goodness what have I got myself into!???

Mom's Quilts

My mom is so talented when it comes to quilting. Her quilts are really works of art. I only wish that I could do something this well.

Pool Days 2

The pool ladies thought that it would be a great idea to start documenting our summer with different snapshots. Here are just a few. The kids were not being the most cooperative and action shots are often difficult to take successfully. But....you can easily see that Miss Olivia is swimming without her arm wings. Yeah!!!

Yes! I grew something!

My idea for planting four tomato plants behind the barn has finally paid off. You are looking at my very first ever homegrown tomatoes. There are lots more waiting to ripen on the plant. Looking at these makes me want a delecious BLT sandwich. Mmmmm! I can't wait.

One LONG Day

Today was probably one of the longest, busiest days of the summer...mainly my fault for planning too much. In fact, Olivia's last words before literally falling into bed were, "This was a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG day!" Just to let you know what I mean, here is a breakdown of our schedule:

1. Morning storytime at the library
2. Home to pick up Daddy
3. Kids' day at the fair (3 hours in 90 degree heat with 6 kids)
4. To Nana's house for swimming
5. A quick dinner
6. To church for the Glow in the Dark Puppet Show
Even though it was tiring, I know that Olivia had fun and will talk about the things we did all week. Above are some photos from the fair. Olivia and her friends rode a ton of rides. On the last picture Olivia is at the top of the slide getting ready to go down...all by herself. Her face on the way down was priceless, and the first words out of her mouth at the bottom were, "Let's do it again!" Man, she's growing up!

Summer Evenings

I bet the we spend about 90% of the day outside in the summer. I tend to like the summer evenings the best. Here are a few shots Michael and I took tonight. Olivia spent her evening riding her bike, playing hopscotch, and running around the front yard. It makes me sad when I think that there are not many more days that can be spent like this...school is right around the corner.

Pool Days

So...it is obvious-after looking at the shade of my skin you can tell that I spend most of my day at the pool. Olivia and I have a great time. She has many friends to swim with, and I have met some nice ladies to chat with while the kids are splashing. We have our designated section of lawn chairs and are often very confused when we show up and other sunbathers are sitting in them. This is also the first summer that Olivia has swam without her arm wings. She is very proud of herself and feels like one of the big kids. After a full day at the pool, you can almost bet that the fun and excitement does not carry on at home.

However, the most precious part of the day: a bronzed, blonde haired, chlorine drenched, tuckered little girl soaking up the peace and quiet after a long day in the sun.

The Many Faces of Olivia

Since this is my first official blog, I am going to make it a quick one all about our dear little Olivia. Olivia is full of life. During our last photo session, she had a blast making funny faces for the camera. I think she was pretty creative. Could this be the start of the new America's Next Top Model? You be the judge.
